Second Forum walk goes to Thames-Side Studios

The bridge in Maryon Park in Charlton where we will be walking.

This Sunday, June11th, members of the Charlton Forum will be meeting in Charlton Park before heading off on a gentle stroll down to the Thames, following the Southeast London Green Chain and finishing at Thames-Side Studios for their open studios exhibition.  The Green Chain Walk will take us through Charlton Park, Maryon Wilson Park, Maryon Park and Moore Park. On the way committee members will be available to answer any Neighbourhood Plan related questions, as well as hear your ideas on what you would like to see included in any such plan.

Everyone is welcome, and, weather permitting (thunderstorms are predicted!), we’ll be meeting outside the Old Cottage Coffee Shop in Charlton Park at 10.45, ready to head off at 11.00. All we ask you to bring are your ideas and enthusiasm for Charlton and the changes – or otherwise – you’d like to see in the future.

Designation as Neighbourhood Forum approved!

Charlton Forum’s application for designation as a Neighbourhood Forum and Neighbourhood Area was approved by the Council on 22 February 2022, although the Charlton Neighbourhood Area was modified by the Council prior to granting the designation. You can find the decision on the Council’s website:

Website launched! Become a member today!

Well, it took longer than we expected, what with one thing and another, and a global pandemic throwing us all for six. However, the website has finally launched and you can now read all about the plan for a Neighbourhood Forum in Charlton.

Why are we referring to ourselves as the ‘Charlton (London)’ Neighbourhood Forum on the site? Because there is already another Charlton Neighbourhood Forum in the offing, down in western Hampshire. Good luck to them!

On this website you can read up on what exactly a Neighbourhood Forum is, the area we propose that it covers, and most importantly of all, you can sign up to become a member. We can’t get this off the ground without your help.
