Green Spaces & the Natural Environment Workshop

Charlton Neighbourhood Forum are pleased to invite local residents to the above workshop, on Saturday 14th October, from 11 am to 1 pm. The venue is St Richard’s Church Centre, on the corner of Sundorne Rd/Swallowfield Rd, Charlton, London SE7 7NR. The hall is an 8 mins walk from Charlton rail station and the bus stops for the 380 and 486.

The workshop is open to residents who live, work, run a business or study in Charlton. If you are not already a member, please join the Forum on the day. This workshop is a great opportunity for residents to share their views on their local environment and our existing green spaces, as well as discuss your priorities and what policies that you would want to become part of the Charlton Neighbourhood Plan.

The workshop will last 2 hours, and will be a mix of short presentations, table discussions and deciding what people feel are important ideas and actions. It will be an opportunity think about and discuss our local area and it’s green spaces and to share ideas and listen to those of other residents.

All the materials maps, pens, post-it notes and flipcharts will be available at the meeting plus well-earned refreshments. You can also meet up with some local Friends group members who are attending to offer their local knowledge about the green spaces in Charlton.

We hope you can make some time to attend the workshop to find out more about the Green Spaces of Charlton and help shape developments in the future.

Plant Sale and Community Day at Charlton House

We’re very much looking forward to having a stand at the Plant Sale and Community Day, at Charlton House on Sunday 21st May.

Organised by our friends, the Charlton and Blackheath Amateur Horticultural Society, the day will see a host of local groups coming together as well as fun for all the family and, of course, lots of lovely plants for sale!

Following on from our excellent walk last week, committee members from the Charlton Forum will again be on hand to have a chat and answer any questions you may have regarding the forum and neighbourhood plans. And most of all we are keen to hear what YOU would like to see in Charlton more – or less – in the future.

Designation as Neighbourhood Forum approved!

Charlton Forum’s application for designation as a Neighbourhood Forum and Neighbourhood Area was approved by the Council on 22 February 2022, although the Charlton Neighbourhood Area was modified by the Council prior to granting the designation. You can find the decision on the Council’s website:

Website launched! Become a member today!

Well, it took longer than we expected, what with one thing and another, and a global pandemic throwing us all for six. However, the website has finally launched and you can now read all about the plan for a Neighbourhood Forum in Charlton.

Why are we referring to ourselves as the ‘Charlton (London)’ Neighbourhood Forum on the site? Because there is already another Charlton Neighbourhood Forum in the offing, down in western Hampshire. Good luck to them!

On this website you can read up on what exactly a Neighbourhood Forum is, the area we propose that it covers, and most importantly of all, you can sign up to become a member. We can’t get this off the ground without your help.

Nearly ready for the off!

It’s been a long hard road for everyone recently, and we’re no different. That said, we are now nearly ready to press ‘Go’ on this site and start the campaign for a Charlton Neighbourhood Forum in earnest.
